The new Blade movie is one of the most anticipated productions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the return of the Daywalker has already encountered obstacles. While that’s not a major spoiler in and of itself, it does suggest that Marvel could skip Eric Brooks’ origin story entirely and jump right into the story as an established vampire hunter for Blade, though it’s not clear how well Blade would fit into our real-life MCU world.

More recently, there’s been a surge of theories and rumors that Blade will introduce the Midnight Sons, a prominent superhero team that often comes to the MCU with dark supernatural abilities. While this seems more feasible with the upcoming introduction of Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine — whose high-profile nature would ideally give the Midnight Sons the extra star power they need — it’s unclear whether this will be possible in the future, as the group is arguably one of Marvel’s lesser-known, including Bob Iger’s MCU plan updates that focus on “leaning a little bit more into sequels and franchises.”
